摘要: 诊断分类模型是以分类为目的模型的总称。它可以充分利用考分并直接反映学生的能力状况,符合教育领域以有效的考题信息来辅助教学的趋势。本文撇除数学公式,以简单的语言总结该类模型的要素、种类和常见参数,通过Eunice Jang的研究,展示诊断分类模型在语言测试和教学领域的具体运用。研究结果表明,诊断分类模型可以为教学提供有益的反馈,但实际使用价值还取决于教师对模型和结果的认可。本文对诊断分类模型的前景和挑战也提出了一些意见和建议。

Abstract: Diagnostic Classification Models (DCMs) are aimed to classify subjects based on latent attributes. They can produce more detailed information to facilitate teaching and learning. This paper introduces DCM models in a non-technical way. The first half covers the main components of DCM models, differentiates between compensatory versus non-compensatory models and explains the meaning of some common parameters. The second half introduces an application by Eunice Jang (2005; 2007) in a language testing and teaching situation. The study demonstrated the complete procedure in how to apply a DCM model. The accuracy and advantages of the model were clearly revealed. The value of the DCM model, however, depended on the teachers’ perception of the model and results. The author of this paper further elaborated on issues and challenges for DCMs.
