From Discussion about Translation of the red and the black to the Dispute of Lin’s Translation of Murakami
--The essence of the two translation commentary events
This thesis made a comparison between two major translation commentary events which caused major influences in the contemporary era. One of them is the 1995 discussion of Chinese translation of “The red and the black”, the other one is the dispute of Haruki Murakami’s translation of Lin.
By comparison, we found out that, although the two translation commentary events had different origins, contexts and backgrounds, they were in essence the dispute of “literal translation” and ”liberal translation”.
