在《W.H.先生画像》中，王尔德从同性爱的角度对莎士比亚十四行诗进行了解读，把其中的爱情归属为古希腊哲学家热烈赞美的“爱恋男童”爱情模式，隐秘地为自己的同性爱进行了辩解。事实上，王尔德这种做法是把古希腊时期、文艺复兴时期和维多利亚时期三个迥然不同的时代并置，用十九世纪末的性观念、评价体系来定位柏拉图和莎士比亚的同性爱，是一种文化空间的错位。
Abstract
In his The Portrait of Mr. W. H., Oscar Wilde discovered Shakespeare’s male love, and proved it to be Greek Urania. By doing this, Wilde defended his own same-sex love in a secret way. However, it is inappropriate for Wilde to consider Greek Urania, Renaissance male love and Victorian homosexual love with the same evaluating standard and to treat Plato and Shakespeare as his contemporaries.
