摘要
本文评介了Theresa Lillis 与 Mary Jane Curry于2010年合作出版的新作《全球化语境下的学术写作:英语出版的政治与惯例》。文章首先对该书的结构和内容进行简要介绍,然后从三个方面对其进行评述:在理论及实践上的重要指导意义;研究工具的多样性及研究方法的创新性;以及贯穿全书的深刻批判性。该书对学术论文写作及发表的政治与惯例所进行的分析具有开拓性,对应用语言学、写作教学与研究及英语作为第二语言和外语教学具有重要价值。
Abstract
This is a review of the newly published book: Academic Writing in a Global Context – The Politics and Practices of Publishing in English written by Theresa Lillis and Mary Jane Curry. This article firstly gives a brief introduction to the structure and content of the book, and then points out its three prominent features: important theoretical and practical implications, diversity of research tools and prominence of critical thinking. The book represents a ground-breaking approach to analyzing the politics and practices of academic writing for publication, and makes an invaluable contribution to the fields of applied linguistics, teaching and researching writing in general, and teaching English as a second and foreign language.
