不同的语言在思维和表达上存在着异源性差异，而这种差异在诸多方面都影响着不同语言描述 的精确与模糊，这一点也早已成为共识。翻译作为两种语言之间由此及彼的媒介，在实践中有必要对制约精 确和模糊背后的多个因素给予充分的考虑，并找到有效的解决方案。本文主要以第八届CASIO 杯翻译竞赛 ( 英译汉和法译汉) 获奖译文为例，从文本、语境、表达等诸多方面来探讨源语言和目的语在转换过程中对精 确和模糊的限制和选择。精确和模糊看似相互矛盾，但也只有在翻译实践之中游刃有余地游离于二者之间， 才能在语义和美学等层面更能传达出原文的内容和气韵。

It is well-known that there exist some heterogeneous differences in terms of thinking patterns and linguistic expressions between languages，and the farther apart two languages in derivation，the more salient these distinctions will be． Translation as a practice，in bridging these gaps between two languages，should give full consideration to these differences． Bearing in mind the role text，context，and expression play in translation，this essay then uses extensive examples from the two prize-winning translations in the 8th CASIO Translation Contest and delves deep into how these factors might exert their restraints on choice between precision and fuzziness during translation． Anyway，it is of utter important for any translator to master the very expertise of translating between this seemingly contradictory pair – precision and fuzziness．
