摘要

本文以某高校非英语专业研究生为说话人,以英语专业研究生和英美留学生为听话人,考察了听话人对说话人口音的感知以及说话人的口音对听话人理解度的影响。研究发现,英汉本族语者都认为韵律特征和口音感知最相关,而在口音和言语理解度的关系上存在较大差异。英语本族语者认为韵律特征与言语理解度关系最密切,而汉语本族语者则认为韵律特征在言语理解过程中不起决定作用。研究结果对二语语音习得理论构建和语音教学带来一些启发

Abstract

The present paper investigates perception and comprehension of accented speech produced by 30 Chinese non- English-Major postgraduates,through the judgment of 38 English-Major postgraduates and 20 oversea students from UK and USA. The study attempts to investigate the perception of accentedness by the Chinese and English listeners and the interference of accentedness in the comprehension of speech. Research results show that prosodic features play the most important role in the perception of accentedness and there are certain differences between Chinese and English listeners in the relationship of accentedness and speech comprehension. This research sheds some light on second language phonetic acquisition and pronunciation teaching and learning.
