摘要

在身份的话语建构观和情景观指导下,本研究分析了国外英语期刊论文中作者实施建议行为时所选择、建构的关系身份情况。研究发现,作者建构的身份包括强势和非强势两大类,有时会突出、有时则对建议对象避而不提。由于受到建议对象社会角色的制约,作者更倾向于建构非强势身份,并隐藏建议对象;建议对象的社会角色权势越高,上述趋势就越明显。本研究结果有助于深化对学术话语的认识,对提升中国学习者的学术写作能力有一定的启发。

Abstract

Based on the arguments that identities are constructed through discourse and are   situation-bound, the present study investigates the relational identities authors constructed while making suggestions in international English academic journal articles. The results show that authors construct both dominating and non-dominating identities, and choose between highlighting and hiding their advisees. Influenced by the advisees’ social roles, the authors prefer non-dominating identities and hiding their advisees. Moreover, the trend becomes more evident when the advisees have higher social ranks. The findings may throw new light on the understanding of academic discourse and have implications for the promotion of Chinese EFL learners’ academic writing competence.
