摘要

学术英语写作中,词块具有重要的研究价值。本文采用语料库方法,以工学期刊英文摘要中高频出现的三词词块为研究对象,对比分析中国作者和本族语作者共同使用的高频词块的差异,着重考察各语步上词块的形式结构和语篇功能对中国作者词块使用所产生的影响。结果表明:中国作者和本族语作者共用的高频词块在总体及个体使用频率上均存在显著差异;词块结构和词块功能是影响词块在各语步使用频率的重要因素,且两者之间存在着交互关系。该研究的发现为中国学习者的词块习得及学术英语写作教学提供了启示。

Abstract

In academic English writing, research on lexical bundles is of great importance. This paper takes English abstracts from engineering journals as the subjects and applies a corpus-based analysis to explore the differences of most frequent 3-word lexical bundles commonly used by native speakers and Chinese learners. It focuses on the influences of lexical structures and lexical functions on Chinese writers in different moves. The results show that there exists a significant difference in the frequencies of the total and the individual lexical bundles. It is also found that lexical structures and functions are the important factors affecting the use of lexical bundles in different moves, and there is a significant correlation between them. The findings have some implications for second language acquisition and academic writing pedagogy.
