摘要

在一流大学和一流学科建设的背景下,提高大学生国际期刊论文的阅读和写作能力已成为中国高校外语 教学的方向?本文在两个学期的学术英语课程中对67个来自不同学科专业的本科生采用语类分析方法,要求学生对其专业期刊的英语论文进行语步?元话语和相关语言表达的辨读,学期结束后采用问卷和访谈的方式评估这种方法?结果显示,学生的期刊论文语类能力?读写能力乃至科研能力都得到了明显的提高,他们撰写期刊论文的信心也有所提高?研究结果对于高校公共英语教学定位的改革等方面具有很大的意义?

Abstract

To enhance the university students’ ability of reading and writing research articles (RAs) in their disciplinary journals has become a subject of immense pedagogical interest at tertiary level in China. The study focused on 76 undergraduates across disciplines in a university who are required in an EAP course to identify moves, steps, metadiscourse and related linguistic features in their collected RAs from their discipline-specific journals. Questionnaires and interviews are employed to evaluate the effects. The results indicate that the identification of generic features may develop learners’ genre knowledge and academic literacy, improve their ability of reading discipline-specific RAs and promote their confidence of writing RAs. The findings have many pedagogical implications for the reform of college English teaching in China.
