名称的指称机制是什么､如何为名称指称理论进行辩护,一直是围绕名称指称的两大未解难题。本文在概述传统语言哲学家针对这两个问题给出的解答方案基础上着重系统评介解决名称指称难题的实验语言哲学进路。一方面,对近十五年来兴起的实验语言哲学进行述评,指出当前实验语言哲学研究存在的问题;另一方面,提出实验语言哲学2.0方略,希冀未来的研究通过拓展研究疆域､革新研究方法,为名称指称难 题的消解做出贡献

Two puzzles about reference of names have remained unsettled, namely, how names refer and how to properly theorize about reference of names. In this paper, the author first introduces the solutions to these two puzzles offered by traditional armchair philosophers of language and then systematically reviews the newly emerged experimental approach within the realm of philosophy of language. In particular, the extant research in experimental philosophy of language in the past fifteen years is critically discussed and the major problems encountered are enumerated. Based on this discussion, the author highlights some new directions for solving the two puzzles, collectively labeled as  experimental philosophy of language 2. 0, with the hope that future studies could better address the issues of reference of names through expanding the research territory and revising the research methodology.
