Consecutive Interpreting and “AA+EA” Strategy

Abstract

Based upon the theory of Cognitive Psychology, the practices of teaching and the experiments of Consecutive Interpreting, this study found out the students’ Anxiety Mode (AM) and Exciting Mode (EM), two psychological modes which strongly affect Consecutive Interpreting. This study applied Anxiety Attention and Anxiety Adjustment to the students’ Anxiety Mode and tried Exciting Attention and Exciting Adjustment to their Exciting Mode, thereby has suggested an “AA + EA” strategy to deal with students’ AM and EM in Consecutive Interpreting.
