Abstract

English poetry teaching is a comparatively  difficult part in English  and American literature  courses. The  conven- tional and traditional teaching approach focuses on the exams and ignores the students ’personal understanding of the poetry and does little to motivate their active learning. Reader - response Approach aims at invoking the students personal reaction emotion- ally to poetry  and  the  network  resources  offer  a  broad  view  for  the  students  in  the  English  poetry  learning. This  will  stimulate students in the further  study  and it helps them to develop the ability  of  appreciation for poetry.
