Abstract

 Ezra Pound ’s translation of  Chinese poetry plays a very  important role in the development of the 20th century ’s poetry . This paper analyzes the interaction between various subjects involved in his translation ;  the interwoveness of Chinese and western cultural elements ,and the confluence of Chinese and western poetic theories in his translation ,pointing out that although far  from flawless ,Pound ’s translation of ancient Chinese poetry has unique aesthetic value as a manifestation of inter - subjectivi- ty.
