Abstract

Metonymy is one of the main ways of expressing time conceptualizations. It is found that the research on time metony- my is less than that of time metaphor. Therefore ,This paper ,based on the embodied philosophical basis ,analyzes the types and its conceptualization of time metonymy from the perspective of cognitive linguistics. It stresses that it is necessary to study time metonymy from the disciplinary perspective of philosophy ,phenomenology ,physics ,cognitive science and linguistics ,and also the quantitative method be needed.
