This article addresses two key issues concerning developing students' critical thinking skills: 1) How to deal with the relationship between the teaching of foreign language skills and critical thinking skills? 2) How to infuse the cultivation of students' critical thinking skills into foreign language teaching? Furthermore， by analyzing authentic teaching episodes， we probe into the current situation of teaching critical thinking skills in college foreign language teaching． Meanwhile， we identify their strengths and weaknesses along with offering some suggestions for improvement．
