Since MTI program aims at cultivating advanced professional translators and interpreters in various specialties， the written translation teaching practice should focus on developing students' translator competence， with a view to improving their various abilities and translation knowledge． This paper intends to put forward an integrated approach within the framework of components of translator competence． It comprises three parts: task-based translation reading and discussion to improve students' cross-cultural communication; skill-based translation workshop to enhance students' translation competence; project-based translation practice to cultivate students' sense of professionalism．
