In reference to the debate on the reform of college English teaching contents，the paper gave its viewpoints． Starting from the fact that the college English teaching contents have oriented themselves towards the teaching contents designed for the English majors，and the teaching contents designed for the non-language majors have aligned themselves with those of foreign universities，the paper discussed what college English teaching contents was able to conform to the talent training goals set by the Chinese higher education．
