Abstract

This paper for the first time investigates the facts of the introduction and translation of Robert Frost's poems in
China before 1949 with the aid of academic databanks of http: / /www.dachengdata.com and http: / /www.cnbksy.cn /shlib_
tsdc /index.do. It points out that the unclear,even blank statement of current study is improper,on the contrary,the import and
translation of Robert Frost's poems in China before 1949 are fruitful. Meanwhile it clarifies the significant historical fact,namely,
the first Chinese translator and translations of Frost's poems in China,which is ahead of the findings of the current study for 14
years. Meanwhile,it makes analysis on its features within this period from the perspective of Translation Studies.
