Abstract

 As a key step of professional title appraisal for teachers in colleges and universities, academic appraisals make quantity and quality assessments on teachers’ academic researches. On the basis of the bibliometric analysis on research papers of lectures and teaching assistants, the status-quo and main problems of foreign language teachers’ research are discussed. What’s more, specific suggestions concerning academic appraisal values, criteria and methods are made to improve the academic appraisal, which will further promote the academic development of foreign language teachers.
