The effects of reading strategy training on reading comprehension: a meta-analysis

Abstract

There are many researches about the effect of reading strategy training on students’ reading comprehension at home and abroad, with various research results. In this study, a meta-analysis on 27 relative studies was performed using Comprehensive Meta-analysis V2. Research results are as follows: 1) the overall effect of reading strategy training is a large one-0.816; 2) there may be many factors working together to influence the results of reading strategy training effects studies; 3) language context and type of strategies trained have no significant effect on research results, while total time of experiment and reading comprehension testing methods have significant effect on research results.
