Supply-Side Structural Reforms in College English Grammar Teaching

Abstract

There exists a failure to oversupply and weak demand in teaching college English grammar, which has been proved through the data collected from a survey recently conducted among the 432 English majors randomly selected from 27 different universities and colleges in China. With the idea of supply-side structural reform in economics being introduced into the teaching activities in need to solve the problems in teaching English grammar at university, the author of this paper shares with readers a set of road map of supply-side structural reform in teaching by testifying the validity of his own reform practices in teaching English grammar for about twenty years. Moreover, the analysis of the author’s supply-side structural reform in grammar teaching further shows the reform practices happen to satisfy the standards for golden courses set by Wuyan(2018).
