A probe into the modes of MTI degree thesis and its evaluation

Abstract

The writing modes of MTI degree thesis and its evaluation have well been discussed in recent years, but as a result of short time and limited experience for MTI in China, each school with MTI is still required to continuously explore the modes. This paper argues that the academic research paper should be cancelled in the forms of MTI degree thesis; MTI degree thesis could be accomplished in accordance with the school’s features and preponderant disciplines, so as to highlight the training objectives and features, and distinguish MTI from academic master degree. Meanwhile, all the schools with MTI should build up the evaluation system of MTI thesis, and explore scientific and feasible thesis specification to fully embody the vocational functions of MTI, and to foster qualified talents of translation and interpreting.
