Abstract

The purpose of the course Introduction to Reading and Writing about Literature is to help students know some basic elements in reading literature and writing essays of criticism, to help to equip them with the eye to see and the brain to feel the texture of literature. By introduction, it means to teach the rules in reading literature, that is, the formality dealing with literature of all kinds. At the same time, understanding literature depends on reading itself, especially the amount of readings required. So, to internalize the basic rules while doing enough amount of readings is something necessary for the success of this course.
