Abstract

Genre feature is an important attribute of texts, which makes the genre variation of translations an effective measurement for the description of translator’s styles. Multidimensional Analysis (MF/MD) can identify the genre categories of the translated text in precision and describe its tendentious features in different genre dimensions. Therefore, it can be used to compare the genre features of multiple translations from the same original work so as to describe their genre variation. The differences of genre dimensions and the factors contributing to its calculation prove to be a comprehensive indicator of translator’s style, and the clustering of them can reflect the translator’s own language style and translation strategy. Multidimensional analysis is of great significance to the description of genre features and the comparative description of translator’s style.
