Abstract
As the product of modern educational theory and the development of university education, research- based teaching introduces the model of research into teaching activities, expecting to cultivate students’ ability of independent thinking, self-study, research, and innovation. Applying research-based teaching into the undergraduate program of English studies will further display the specialty of English studies as a discipline and help remedy the limitations of the traditional “skill-oriented” English studies. Introducing “question-based elicitation method” into classroom teaching and carrying out “project-based team research” after class, research-based teaching of English literature can effectively promote students’ awareness of problems, cultivate their research ability, and advance their development in an all-round way, contributing to the thorough realization of the value of literature in man’s acquisition of knowledge and wisdom.
