Abstract

French functional linguist Martinet’s theory of synchronic dynamic emphasizes that the study of language evolution should combine diachronic studies with synchronic studies, and it makes an important theoretical supplement to the study of language evolution. Colette and other French functional linguists have inherited, verified, and developed the theory of synchronic dynamic, and pointed out the connection and difference between “dynamic” and “oscillation ”and between “dynamic” and “grammaticalization”. However, the above studies still have limitations, and there is still much room for discussion.

Key words

synchronic dynamic / language evolution / oscillation / grammaticalization
