摘要
概念语法隐喻是学术语篇的重要特征,也是语言学习者的学术读写能力之一。本文通过对比国内外博 士论文中的13类概念语法隐喻,发现国内高级英语学习者总体具备较强概念语法隐喻能力,但还存在名词化使用过多、部分类型使用不足、语法隐喻词汇多样性较低以及隐喻转化错误或不完整问题。概念语法隐喻能力是隐喻能力的重要部分,在教学中需突出非名词化语法隐喻的作用并提升概念语法隐喻词汇的多样性及隐喻转化的正确性和完整性。
Abstract
Given its essential role in academic discourse, ideational grammatical metaphor (IGM) is an important part of academic literacy. The present study compares the 13 types of IGM between the English PhD theses written by Chinese students and those by native speakers. It is found that the Chinese advanced leaners have overall developed the IGM competence, but
there remain such problems as overuse of non- nominalization, underuse of some others, low lexical variation, and wrong or incomplete metaphorization. In developing learners IGM competence which is a part of the general metaphorical competence, more attention should be paid the nominalization types of IGM, the improvement of the lexical variation, and the instruction of metaphorization processes.
