摘要

功能-认知视角能充分解释英语语态的语义、功能和使用。英语主动与被动语态在对概念结构的表达上各 不相同,在特定语域中实现各自的概念、人际和语篇功能。概念层面,主动与被动语态体现不同的认知意象;人际层面,语态选择体现说话人的交际目的;语篇层面,语态选择影响小句衔接、话题变换和信息焦点调整。另外,语态的使用与 动词和语篇类型也密切相关。

Abstract

The meanings, functions and uses of English voices could be adequately elaborated from afunctional-cognitive perspective. The active and passive voices are different from each other in their expressions to the conceptual structure. The two English voices fulfill their respective ideational, interpersonal and textual functions in certain registers. In terms of the ideational function, the active and the passive voices realize different cognitive images. With respect to the interpersonal function, the selection of voices reflects the speaker’s intention in communication. With reference to the textual function, voices election in clauses influences the cohesion between clauses and changes of topics as well as adjustments of information focuses. In addition, the use of voices also has a close relationship with the verb and the genres.
