本研究以张爱玲小说《小团圆》及其英译本 Little Reunions 为研究语料，采用汉英平行语料库，基于 Caldas-Coulthard 对报道动词的分类，分析英译本中使用的报道动词及修饰语对九莉、之雍、蕊秋、楚娣四位 主要人物形象的影响。研究发现，四个人物的形象都有较为明显的改变。本文认为人物形象在译文中出现变 形，主要与目的语语言规范、译文体裁定位、目的语文化中的女性主义意识形态及译者的主体地位叙事有关。

With the help of parallel corpus and adopting Caldas-Coulthard’s categorization of reporting verbs, the present paper analyzes how the reporting verbs and their modifiers adopted in the English translation, Little Reunions, of Eileen Chang’s novel Xiao Tuan-yuan, impact on the images of the four major characters, Julie, Chih-yung, Rachel and Judy. It is found that the images of all the four characters are altered to some extent in the English translation. It is argued that the change of the characters’ image is accounted for by the linguistic norms of the target culture, the generic positioning of the translation, the feminist ideas in the target culture and the diegetic action by the translators from their subject position.
