当前理论界对明喻翻译策略的研究关注不足，且已有相关成果缺乏实践指导性。本文采取定量与定性相结合的方法，以《狼图腾》明喻句的英译为研究对象，探讨指导翻译实践的明喻翻译策略。研究表明，喻底比喻体更适合作为明喻翻译的关键。根据喻底的有无，明喻可以分为显性和隐性两个类别。显性明喻句中，喻底根据出现的位置构成一个凸显程度连续统，随着喻底凸显程度的减弱，翻译的自由度就增加；而在隐性明喻句中喻底的可及性构成一个连续统，影响着明喻句翻译策略的选择。本文可以对明喻翻译以及其他修辞翻译实践与教学提供相关参考。

Current studies on simile translation are limited and the relevant achievements lack practical guidance. Focusing on the English translation of similes in Wolf Totem, this paper combines quantitative and qualitative methods in the discussion of the translation strategies of similes to guide translation practice. The present research finds that ground instead of vehicle should be regarded as the key to simile translation. According to the presence or absence of ground, similes can be divided into explicit and implicit ones. The ground in explicit similes constitutes a salience continuum in which the decrease of the ground precipitates an increase in leeway towards vehicle. The ground in implicit similes constitutes an accessibility continuum which has a bearing on the choice of relevant strategies. The study can shed light on the translation practice and teaching of simile as well as other figures of speech.
