《周易》弥纶天地之道，蕴涵丰富的哲学思想。文章援易入译并以闵福德英译《易经》为例，阐明翻译是一个涉及“言—象—意”和“意—象—言”多级生发的思维过程，其间原作发生变形，翻译距离由此而生。为适当调整翻译距离，译者应以“致中和”为指归，遵循“适旨、适性、适变、适度”的“四适”原则，灵活运用各种译法、译技，使翻译距离产生翻译之美。

The Zhou Yi or Book of Changes is inclusive of the ways of heaven and earth and teemed with philosophical wisdom. Based on the philosophical thoughts of the Zhou Yi and John Minford’s English translation of the I Ching, this paper demonstrates that translation is a multiple process that involves “word-image-thought” and “thought-image-word”, in which the source text is transformed and translation distance is created. In order to make an optimum adjustment of translation distance, the translator should follow the principles of expressing the author’s communicative intention, achieving the harmony between the translator’s style and the original’s style, making changes according to the requirements of time and aiming at “the perfect state of equilibrium and harmony”, and flexibly adopt various translation methods and skills to produce aesthetically satisfying texts.
