Development of capacity for international communication is the general call of duty that colleges and universities need to answer in the new era. With regard to the discipline of Foreign Language and Literature, the capacity for international communication is mainly composed of advanced writing competence, outward translation competence, and intercultural communication competence. Approaches to the development of capacity for international communication involve interdisciplinary cooperation and integration on the basis of enhancement of tradition in the context of the New Liberal Arts Initiative, and the building of academic community shared by both faculty members and students.
